Sydney Harbour Bridge
One of Australia’s icons, the Sydney Harbour Bridge was opened in 1932 and is considered an engineering masterpiece that took six years to build. The bridge links the city to North Sydney, linking the two most important commercial hubs in the city. It is made of steel and contains 6 million hand driven rivets. It requires a team of full time painters to rustproof it, as the surface area that requires painting is equal to about the surface area of 60 sports fields. The Bridge has huge hinges to absorb the expansion caused by the hot Sydney sun.
Bridge Climb was setup in October 1998 so that locals and tourists can climb to the top of the arches. To undertake this unforgettable experience, participants are equipped with protective overalls and are roped in. Once you reach the top you will have the best view of the best city in the world. The top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge is 134m high, which is 146 yards
